It is a classic activity in Holbox. These three attractions near the island are aboard a boat:
Passion Island: a small island surrounded by sandy beaches, where you can go down and relax in its crystal clear waters, also in the season from May to September it becomes a feeding and resting area for flamingos, so you will enjoy watching these and some other species of birds.
Bird Island: bird watching from two viewpoints. This island is Holbox’s bird sanctuary, a favorite resting and nesting area for many species of birds, both migratory and local. In the winter, the island fills with Canadian pelicans, and the rest of the year, with birds such as herons, cormorants, ospreys, and frigatebirds, among others.
Yalahau: Open-air cenote in the middle of the mangroves. A natural pit, or sinkhole, that exposes fresh groundwaters. Its waters join with salt water. Here you can enjoy a relaxing swim in its fresh waters. The people say that they are “rejuvenating” waters.
